Our work
African children are more likely than children in the rest of the world to grow up malnourished, without an education, and affected by conflict and HIV/AIDS. We work with communities and partner organisations to support development projects that tackle the root causes of poverty among children and young people in Africa.
Our generous donors enable SUFA to support community-led development projects that benefit deprived children and young people in Benin, Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Kenya and Uganda.
In Africa,`we work with local partners and communities to:
- Improve educational opportunities for children and young people.
- Improve children's health and wellbeing.
- Promote and protect the rights of young people and women.
- Provide opportunities for young people and families to earn a living.
In the UK and worldwide, we work with individuals and groups to:
- Encourage young Africans in the Diaspora and friends of Africa to raise awareness of Africa's development.
- Provide opportunities for young Africans in the Diaspora and friends of Africa to become active in their local and global communities.
- Raise funds and support for our projects.
